So you booked a session...

Thank you so much for trusting me with capturing your family. I look forward to our upcoming photo session together. Here are some FAQs to help you prepare for your photo session.
What should we wear? What photographs best?
Obviously you can wear whatever your would like! I almost always recommend you wear something you are comfortable in and feel good in. Everyone has different style so wear something that is true to you. Trying some unique trendy style might be fun, but may also date your portrait when you look back. Try to avoid watches or phones in pockets, as this might date you portrait as well.

When I have my own family photographed I pick neutral basic colors and outfits they can run and play and move in. I usually dress myself just a bit nicer than my everyday wear. Things like a flowy dress look beautiful and capture movement, and don't be afraid to mix and match textures with items your family is wearing.

Wear shoes that go with your location. Is your session at the beach? Then shoes you can kick off easy are a must! Are you wanting images by the water? Then maybe something you don't mind getting wet at the bottom.
What should set up?
As little as possible! I want the focus of your images to be your family and your connection with each other. I don't use props, or bowls, or baskets. I want you to look back at these images and remember the moments holding your baby, and kissing their tiny toes, and smelling their scent.

Also you do NOT need to clean your home or fuss over anything for my arrival. Having a newborn is enough of an adjustment, please do not feel the need to change anything for me. When I am at your home I will most likely be photographing you by your windows of your home with the best light. I will move anything that seems to be distracting in the background of your images at that time, (and then put them back for you).

That being said, I do like to incorporate any sentimental items or family heirlooms that are important to your family. Maybe a special quilt, or blanket? Please set these items out and let me know beforehand what you would like to incorporate into your session.
How soon will we get our images?
The general service agreement we sign states that you will have your images within 30 days of the session date. However, I really pride myself on getting the gallery to you sooner so that you can enjoy your images that much longer.
How will payment work?
Payment is due in full at the session. I prefer payment in cash but also accept Venmo and credit card. If you would like to pay with a credit card, please let me know and I will send you an invoice in which you can pay with card.
Can I print my images anywhere?
Yep! I like to do all inclusive packages to give you the option to download your images and use them how you would like. If you don't have a favorite place to print your images, there is an online store attached to gallery where you can order physical products such as prints, metal prints, and canvases. I use a professional grade lab, so the products are meant to last for a long period of time, and print true to color. Physical prints ordered from the online store are printed in a matte soft print and are what I feel is the best form to see the image as it is intended.
How long is the session?
I usually take images anywhere from 40 min - an hour or more. With newborn sessions, I do not rush through or push to get everything taken in a certain amount of time. If baby needs to feed, change, anything really we stop and go on baby's schedule.
